2014 Major League Baseball Tickets

Spring is upon us and with the coming warm weather we find our thoughts wandering toward…the

upcoming Major league Baseball season. What surprises may be in store for us this summer? Which

teams have spent big money, brought in top notch free agents, and will contend in the fall for a playoff

spot and a World Series run? The answers will come in time but for right now we’ll take a look at the

MLB in general and maybe get an answer to which baseball tickets will be worth pursuing in the spring.

AL East

Like it or not, most discussions of the MLB begin with the New York Yankees. Left out of the playoffs last

season, New York hopes to rebound in a big way. To get it done the Yankees have once again opened

their wallets. The signing of players like Jacoby Ellsbury, Carlos Beltran, and Brian McCann bodes well for

a New York team trying to get back into contention in the AL East and the MLB in general. Hanging on to

Hiroki Kuroda is also a positive for the New York Yankees.

Don’t anticipate the Boston Red Sox giving an inch. They may have lost Ellsbury to their hated rivals but

the team that grabbed a World Series title last season is coming back fairly intact. We can also expect

bigger and better things from some of the younger players on the roster. Guys like Will Middlebrooks

and Jackie Bradley will only get better. The Red Sox and the Yankees will one again be waging war in the

AL East.

AL Central

Watch out for the Detroit Tigers. They’ve made some big moves in an effort to improve their roster.

Prince Fielder is gone but Detroit still has one of the better rotations in the MLB with Justin Verlander

and Max Scherzer. They also have the ability to score runs with Miguel Cabrera, Austin Jackson, and

Victor Martinez at the plate. Detroit will have to contend with an up and coming Cleveland Indians

squad in the 2014 season though. The Indians will be coming back more determined than ever after a

near miss in 2013.

AL West

The AL West is going to be interesting to watch. Will the signing of Prince Fielder make the Texas

Rangers a contender? Maybe, but the flurry of signing by the Oakland Athletics may be enough to offset

that advantage. Then there’s the Mariners, who managed to get Robinson Cano signed to a long term

deal. With all the movement in this division it’s going to be a tough race well into the fall.

NL East

The Washington Nationals began to make major progress last season with a young and promising

roster. Now they’ve added some proven talent with Doug Fister added to their rotation. Can the

Nationals break out and take over the NL East? We’ll have to wait and see what the Atlanta Braves have

up their sleeves. This is going to be a two horse race as neither the Mets or the Phillies look to be strong

enough to contend right now.

NL Central

You have to love the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Central. Consistent and proven

winners, Philadelphia boosted their strength with key signings (think Jhonny Peralta) and still have

loads of depth in their farm system. As strong as they are though, the Pittsburgh Pirates, who were a

big surprise last season, may return and make some noise. Then there’s the Cincinnati Reds. Cincinnati

boasts a powerful offense that will give any team a run for its money and that should be enough to keep

them in the race all season long.

NL West

The Los Angeles Dodgers feature Matt Kemp, Adrian Gonzales, Zack Greinke, and Yasiel Puig. Shouldn’t

that be enough? It probably will be in an NL West laden with rebuilding teams. The Diamondbacks,

Padres, and Giants will be battling for the second spot in this division. Of the three, the Diamonbacks

may be the Wild Card in the bunch. Offense is no problem but Arizona will need to find some consistent

pitching if they hope to challenge the Dodgers.

In 2014, MLB tickets are going to take us for a long and satisfying ride. Grab your seats early. There

will be big games, surprise performances, and new names rising to the forefront. The bloom of the

season comes in the fall but the seeds are planted this summer. ABCtickets.com is harvesting your Major

League Baseball tickets now. All you have to do is claim them.
